Through acrylics and ink, I transform dull, blank bicycle helmets into unique fashion accessories! Each helmet is hand-painted by Danielle Baskin in her studio in the East Village and created custom to order to suite the varying tastes of all styles and personalities of cyclists. Each piece is an original, whimsical, and mobile work of art.

Belle Helmets makes it possible to stylishly ride your bike safely.

I paint a blank CPSC-certified helmet by hand and then seal it with 5-6 coats of UV-protected polyurethane in a glossy, satin, or matte finish, so the artwork is scratch and water-resistant. They are made to be durable and wearable. Danielle was absolutely great to work with. She combined multiple images/ideas to come up with a great design which was exactly what I was hoping for. It was quick and easy working through the design process with her. The finished product was well executed and looks really good.
